My Nebula portrait coming is slowly along. I’m waiting on a light ultramarine pencil to arrive in the post before I can work on the other parts of her face. Yes that’s right after all those new pencils I still didn’t have the right shade!

Working in blue pencils is so hard! I’ve already re-started this drawing four times. And I might have to start over again as I’m not happy with how the mouth is coming along.

New pencils <3
Hopefully I have to right shade of blue now. Look at that gorgeous silver too!

I’ve lost a few followers this week :( So to try and entice you back or new followers altogether, here’s my gorgeous cat Suki. How can you resist that face!
I’m working on some new artwork at the moment so I’ll be updating with progress photos soon.

I had to put my book down for a good ten minutes because I was laughing so hard at this picture. So much for being a sensible adult reading up on the topology of wormholes ;)
In case you’re interested, the book is Hyperspace by Michio Kaku

Crystal Palace

Visited one of my favourite places this week, Crystal Palace.

The Darwin and the Dinosaur trail, how could I not love it!

Pedalo on the lake…even though it terrifies me!

Completed the maze in 20 minutes! Made all the more a-maze-ing (ho ho) by the fact last year me and Pete got stuck in there for an hour before giving up.

Got distracted by a pretty green bird flying over head…

And of course, it wouldn’t be a day out at Crystal Palace without ice cream!

A cheeky cider at lunch time leads to a complete lack of control when in a bookshop, whoops! I mean even less control than usual ;)
No more cider & mixing discount book stores for me!
I’ve already started reading Capital Crimes by Max Decharne, very good so far. Feels all the nicer after having just finished a disappointing book on the underground history of London “Underground London: Travels Beneath the City Streets by Stephen”. It should of been so interesting but I found the authors writing style jarring. If only it had been more underground, less clothing descriptions of the people he met.
I’m looking forward to reading Mary Beard’s Pompeii as I loved the TV program she hosted on it. Plus I love Mary Beard :)

I volunteer in the book section of a charity shop and the fact I only came home with two I think shows real strength ;)
